IND Vs SA, 2nd Test : India Close To Series With Jasprit Bumrah's Ninth Five-Wicket Haul -
IND Vs SA, 2nd Test : Now let's get Jasprit Bumrah in. Day 1 of the second South Africa versus India Test match at Newlands, Cape Town, saw Mohammed Siraj secure six wickets; Bumrah helped himself to a fifer, enabling the visitors to seize total control of the tour finale. Aiden Markram and David Bedingham were on 36 and seven runs, respectively, as South Africa began the second day's play with the overnight total of 62/3, still 36 runs behind India. In three innings on Day 2, Markram became the first player to achieve fifty runs, with the Newlands top appearing to be a safer place for the hitters to play their strokes. But wickets are falling all around him. Even if it's not quite as high as it was on Day 1, when red Kookaburra struck as many as 23 batters, the rate is still concerning. This time, Bumrah was the one causing harm to the Proteas. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="671"]

With Siraj on fire, Bumrah, the mainstay of India's pace attack, could only capture a few of wickets in the first innings against South Africa. But Bumrah was in a league of his own on Thursday. With Keshav Maharaj caught behind, the Ahmedabad native, 30, quickly secured his tenth five-wicket haul in Test cricket in just 11 overs. With his best innings total of 6/27, Bumrah has claimed 139 wickets in 32 Tests, including this one. His 9/86 match stats are his best.
