It's time for the business end of Euro 2024, as the quarterfinals were officially announced on Tuesday, July 2, following the completion of the Round of 16 matches. The Netherlands defeated Romania 3-0 on Tuesday, running away with the victory. Turkey advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Austria in the second game.
On July 2, Mehri Demiral stole the show in Leipzig, Germany, when he defeated the tournament's dark horses in the Round of 16. There would be some exciting matchups because teams like Portugal, Spain, France, England, Germany, and Switzerland had already guaranteed their spots in the last 8. Spain easily defeated Georgia 4-1, while the hosts Germany defeated Denmark 2-0. The quarterfinal stage will now begin with a match between these two formidable teams on Friday, July 5.
