A player gets banned and their demerit points are converted to suspension points if they accrue four or more in a 24-month period. Depending on which comes first for the player, two suspension points are equivalent to a ban from one Test, two ODIs, or two T20Is. Level 1 violations are punishable by an official reprimand as a minimum, 50% of the player's match fee as a maximum, and one or two demerit points.

Tanzim acknowledged his Mistake

The event happened at the conclusion of Nepal's innings' third over. Tanzim angrily moved towards Nepali batsman Rohit Paudel after bowling a delivery. The Bangladeshi pacer was heard asking, "What happened?" many times as he charged towards Paudel after the two exchanged words. After then, the conversation turned into improper physical contact. The respective teammates and on-field umpires kept the two apart.

There was no need for a formal hearing because Tanzim acknowledged the offense and accepted the punishment suggested by Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.

The accusation was made by fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena, third umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal, and on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Sam Nogajski.
