PS1 Game Getting Special Release after 27 Years
Square Enix PS1 game which was debuted back in 1999 which did not come until 2000 is now getting a special release 27 years later. It was not until 2003 that the Square merged with Enix to create the Japanese company we know today. There are a lot of Square Enix all-time great games, which are actually Square games; there is a distinction without a difference.
The people who played back in 1999 or 2000, Square Enix’s tactical role-playing game, Front Mission 3, will be glad to know it is getting a special release. The OS1 exclusive returned this year with a remake like Front Mission 3: Remake, which was not handled by Square Enix. Square Enix licensed out the publisher forever to Entertainment and developer MegaPixel Studio. The remake was released on January 30 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, but it was only digital. Now it is also getting the retail release for those who like to collect physical copies of the games.
The Limited release
Some may already have the physical copy, as there was a physical copy release in Japan, which is available for import. Also, now, it is getting a big physical upgrade in the West through Limited Run Games. The Physical release will be available in 2 forms, the first one is the standard release and the second one is the classic edition, which is meant to mimic the PS1. The former is around $40, the latter around $80, and the game itself costs around $,35 which is a great deal.
For now, there is no release date, but the pre-order window has been opened and is set to run until April 19. Whbitsbith are available for all the platforms? The remake received a 66 on Metacritic and also has similar user review scores, with the latter trending a little higher. The original boasts an 84 on GameRanking. The remake is going to be for nostalgic people who loved the original, rather than for newcomers who can try out the series for the first time. The latter should check out the remakes of the first two games before jumping into the third.
