The CEO of Xbox wants a cheaper Game Pass with a Netflix bundle.

Microsoft Gaming’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, is looking for major changes to Xbox Game Pass pricing, which also include cheaper tiers and potential subscription bundles with Netflix. The changes came after Asha Sharma overtook Phil Spencer in February, with the report to focus on making the Xbox hardware and services more appealing to the wider audience. One of the key areas under review is Game Pass, for which people have seen an increase in price in recent months.

Looking at the information going online, Microsoft could get back to the lower-priced Game Pass, potentially including the ad-supported option. Which allow the players to access the games at a reduced cost, in exchange for ads. This strategy is already used on many platforms. Services like Netflix offer many discounted plans with ads, one of which is ad-supported at $8 per month compared to its $18 standard plan.

In recent months, Game Pass pricing has climbed. Last October 2025, Microsoft increased the cost of the Game Pass Ultimate to $30 per month, making a 50% jump. The other plans currently available, which also include Game Pass Premium which is at $15 per month, Game Pass Essential at $10, and PC Game Pass at $16.50.

It has come to news that Microsoft and Netflix might bring subscription bundles. The Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters said he and Sharma have thought of some ideas around the possible partnership, but nothing has been finalised yet. In a recent statement,t Peter said they are working on something which could benefit both consumers and both companies, and are still trying to figure out how to make Game Pass work.

It has also come to notice that Sharma has already made internal changes since taking over, which also included ending Microsoft’s Xbox marketing campaign, whichwas laters removed from their official website.
